Yesterday, I attended Fire Warden training at my office. Fortunately, the guy leading the presentation didn't look or sound like this...
In actuality, the guy leading the training did a great job, and was very serious about safety protocol in high rise buildings.
During the early stages of the training class, they showed us a 12 minute video (copywright 2002 I believe) going over some do's and don'ts in high rise buiding safety. While certainly informative, it was astounding to notice how outdated some of the office scenes were in the video. The following items now seem so oudated a scant nine years since:
- fax machines
- outdoor pay phones
- square computer monitors the size of a small safe
- a lady taking a written message to have a call returned
Add that to the list of other things our kids may never know like a paper phonebook and it makes for an interesting look back and forward.
